Coach Nick Wargo is excited to return for his tenth season as head coach of the FoxCreek Marlins. Under Coach Wargo's tutelage, the Marlins have become one of the premier summer swim programs in Chesterfield County, having accomplished the following:
- Led the team to four CAL overall league championships in 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2023
- Led the team to five CAL Division A championships in 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2023
- Team was named the "Most Improved" team during the 2018 season on account of season-long time improvements
- Annually qualifies over 70% of swimmers to the league championship meet
- Lifetime 32-24 dual meet record
With a heavy emphasis on cultivating a strong foundation of stroke technique, developing a mindset of racing, celebrating personal growth, and finding a passion for the sport of swimming, Coach Wargo has helped guide every Marlin swimmer to attain their in-season goals, reach new personal bests and personal firsts in the pool, and extend their love of the sport beyond the summer swim season. Coach Wargo's teams are routinely characterized as hard-working, high-achieving, organized, having a team mindset, demonstrative of sportsmanship and professionalism, and ultimately as having a winning, character-driven, goal-driven culture.
Coach Wargo graduated from Grove City College in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Mathematics and Secondary Education; while at Grove City, he was a four-year letterwinner on the varsity swim team. He graduated from the University of Virginia with his Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. Outside of his time on the pool deck, Coach Wargo works as a math and computer science teacher at Matoaca High School. He also serves as a coach for the Clover Hill Cavaliers varsity swim team. He is happily married to his wife Michelle and has two sons, two-year-old Brantley and five-month-old Kenan.
Coach Wargo's philosophy is "dedication to the little steps will yield a big result." He believes that every swim practice and competition throughout the season is a learning opportunity, to both celebrate personal improvement and find areas for continued growth; he also practices a daily attitude of gratitude for every swimming opportunity presented and demonstrates true dedication for the sport of swimming. For an individual swimmer or for the collective team to meet their goals, Coach Wargo believes that they must commit themselves to keeping their eyes on the prize, doing routine actions routinely right, and finding joy in the journey. Coach Wargo is excited to lead the next generation of great Marlins to find personal improvement and cultivate a passion for the sport of swimming.
Coach Jackson Irvine is in his third year coaching with the FoxCreek Marlins and can't wait to work with every swimmer to achieve as many of their goals as possible.
Coach Jackson is a rising Senior at Cosby High School, where he is Captain of the Cosby Titans Varsity swim team and has also been a member of the FoxCreek Marlins for ten years. Other than swimming, Coach Jackson sings in the Cosby Choral Department with the Men's Choir, Spotlight Show Choir, and will be a part of the Chamber Ensemble next school year. Other than swimming, Coach Jackson enjoys hanging out with friends, playing basketball and video games, volunteering at church or going out for dinner.
Coach Jackson's philosophy is to "trust the process." He believes that if everyday swimmers show up and put in their best effort the process will work and they'll become the person and swimmer they want to be.
Coach Lorelei Schatz is excited to serve as an assistant coach for the FoxCreek Marlins for the 2026 summer swim season!

Coach Chloe has been swimming with the Marlins since she was just six years old, making the team a second family to her. Over the years, she’s grown from a young swimmer learning the basics to a confident, competitive athlete and now a dedicated coach, excited to give back to the community that shaped her.
In addition to her time with the Marlins, Chloe is a year-round swimmer and proudly represents Cosby High School on their varsity swim team. Her experience both on summer and school teams has given her a strong foundation in technique, teamwork, and sportsmanship. When she’s not coaching or training, Chloe enjoys a mix of activities. She loves to read, crochet, and spend time paddleboarding. She’s always up for a good laugh with friends and believes that summer swim is all about having fun, working hard, and building lasting friendships.
Coach Chloe is so excited for another awesome season with the Marlins and can’t wait to help her swimmers grow, improve, and have the best summer ever!
Coach Isabella is excited for her second season serving as an assistant coach for the FoxCreek Marlins!
Coach Isabella has been swimming with the FoxCreek Marlins since she was 5, when she started out as a mini. She attends Monacan High School for the Humanities Program. At Monacan, Coach Isabella is a member of the Field Hockey team and was in the school’s musical during the spring. When she’s not at practice or rehearsal, she loves to sing in her school’s choir, read, swim, and watch early 2000s movies.
Coach Isabella’s philosophy is “there are no mistakes, just happy accidents.” She believes that “mistakes” are just an amazing opportunity for growth in swimmers, both in and out of the pool. Swimmers who put in the effort will see the results.
Kailyn is a rising Junior at Trinity Episcopal School. She started swimming at a young age and later participated in the senior helper program for a couple years. She has been working at the Quest swim school for over a year and loves coaching swimming. Swimming has provided her with so many friendships and learning opportunities. When she’s not on the pool deck she is usually on the track. She runs cross country and track during the school year and has worked with the physical overlap between the two sports. She has two younger brothers that both swim for the team! She loves hanging out with friends and finding fun things to do!
Her swimming and coaching philosophy is to allow for swimmers to grow in their technique and fall in love with the sport of swimming. She wants swimmers to be able to come to practice everyday loving what they're doing and understanding how to do it. You were only able to truly grow in this sport if you love it! She also believes that a strong team culture equates to their success. She hopes that as we're able to move into this season we can continue to develop a strong tight-knit community.
Coach Sydney is a rising Senior at Cosby High School and is part of the Health Sciences Specialty Center there! She has been swimming since a very young age and has had the opportunity to gain many new experiences through the sport. Sydney loves spending time with her friends and family and going on all sorts of adventures with them! She also adores reading and loves getting to immerse herself in worlds apart from our own.
Her philosophy as a coach is to create an environment where swimmers feel challenged, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential. She believes success comes through consistency, accountability, and positive team culture. While competition and performance matter, she also values personal growth, confidence, and learning life skills through the sport.
