Good evening Marlin families,

It was great seeing so many Marlin swimmers at practice today! It’s nice to have our whole team back in the water training and getting ready for what will be a great summer swim season!

Here is this week’s “Marlin Message” with some updates and reminders about the coming week.

No Practice 5/22 and 5/25

Due to the Memorial Day weekend, there will be no FoxCreek swim practice on Friday, May 22nd or Monday, May 25th.

Champs Date

Save the date for our annual CAL Championship Meet! The CAL Championship Meet, which serves as our end-of-year culminating meet, will be held on Monday, July 20th and Tuesday, July 21st. The meet will be broken up into four sessions as follows:

• Session 1 | Monday, July 20th in the morning | Swimmers ages 8 and under
• Session 2 | Monday, July 20th in the afternoon | Swimmers ages 9-10
• Session 3 | Tuesday, July 21st in the morning | Swimmers ages 11-12
• Session 4 | Tuesday, July 21st in the afternoon | Swimmers ages 13-18

To qualify for the championship meet, swimmers must achieve at least one qualifying time and attend a minimum of two regular season dual meets.

The CAL Championship Meet is a fun and competitive experience where our swimmers get to compete against the entire league to both demonstrate their individual growth over the course of the season while racing to represent their team and score as many points for the Marlins. Each year, we annually qualify over 70% of our team for the championship meet. Additionally, we have a rich history of success at champs, having won the overall league titles in 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2023. It is my goal to continue our team’s collective success at the championship level, and hope that as many swimmers can be part of the experience at the end of July.

More information about champs will be shared throughout the season, but for now mark your calendars for the big meet!

Reminder About Meet Signups

Reminder that you are now able to sign up for all dual meets this season on the team website.

For each dual meet, the deadline to declare for a meet is the Wednesday the week before the meet date. For our first meet against Tarrington held on Tuesday, June 9th, the deadline to register is by midnight on Wednesday, June 3rd.

Signup for volunteer jobs will open on June 1st.
